I decided to shoot this with the big gun,
the Sony HDW-700a, because the setting was so
spectacular. The blind camp where Marian goes each year
is up in the mountains East of Sacramento, California.
Its a lovely quiet retreat surrounded by its own scale
railroad, steam locomotive and train.
This piece was shot before the days of HDV, so we
supplemented the big camera with a Sony PD-10, which
really helped when we were in low-light and cramped
quarters.
Marian is a cool little kid with a limited life span due
to his condition. What an inspiration.
